What is Notion Anyway?

Welcome down the rabbit hole of Notion, a dynamic, all-in-one workspace where organization meets creativity. Whether you're a student, a professional, or a team leader, Notion offers a versatile platform to streamline your workflow. This article will introduce you to the basics of Notion and showcase the power of Notion templates.

Notion is a unique productivity tool that blends your notes, tasks, wikis, and databases into one flexible interface. It's more than just a note-taking app; it's a comprehensive tool that adapts to your personal and professional needs. With its user-friendly design, Notion helps you organize your work and personal life in a visually appealing and efficient way.

Key Features:

  • Customizable Templates: Jumpstart your productivity with templates for project management, personal journals, budget trackers, and more.

  • Integrated Workspace: Combine notes, tasks, spreadsheets, and databases in a single, cohesive platform.

  • Collaboration Made Easy: Share pages and work together with teammates or family members in real time.

  • Accessibility: Access your Notion workspace from any device, ensuring your information is always at your fingertips.

The Basics:

I’m not gonna sugarcoat it…there is a little bit of a learning curve and Notion definitely takes some getting used to. But once you learn the basics and start playing around with it, you’ll be a whiz in no time (this is where pre-made Notion templates can be very useful. You can learn by using and reverse engineering them)!

Databases:

The first thing to know is that Notion utilizes databases to store and organize various types of information like tasks, projects, notes, and more. These databases are highly customizable, allowing users to create tables, boards, lists, calendars, and galleries. This flexibility means you can tailor how the data is displayed and interacted with according to your specific needs or preferences.

The Dashboard:

On your Notion dashboard (just another way of saying the first or main page of your Notion workspace), you can customize these database views by:

  • Choosing the View Type: Select from table, board (Kanban style), list, calendar, or gallery views depending on your preference or the project's requirements.

  • Filtering and Sorting Data: Apply filters to display only certain items based on criteria you set, and sort data by different parameters like date, status, or alphabetical order.

  • Grouping and Color-Coding: For board views, you can group items by categories (like project stages) and use color-coding for quick visual reference.

  • Adding Properties: Customize the database by adding properties like text, numbers, dates, checkboxes, formulas (we’ll get into those later!), and more to capture all necessary details.

This customization allows for a highly personalized and efficient way to manage and interact with your data in Notion.

Why Choose Notion Templates?:

Notion templates are the secret weapon for maximizing efficiency and shortening the learning curve. They provide a pre-structured layout that you can customize to fit your specific needs. From managing a complex project to organizing a simple to-do list to creating an all-in-one ultimate life planner, these templates save time and enhance productivity. Bonus? You can learn how to build your own templates by using pre-made ones and “reverse engineering” the process. As you gain more experience with the platform, you’ll naturally want to add more database items, functionality, style, etc. I believe a good end goal would be to eventually design your own templates (and this is coming from someone who sells done-for-you PLR Notion templates ;))

Our Notion Templates with PLR:

Check out the Notion templates with PLR (Private Label Rights) in the FlowNotion Studios store…they’re a great place to start (if I do say so myself ;)). Since they include PLR, this means not only can you use these templates for your own needs but you can also resell them to others. The collection is constantly growing and includes templates for professional and personal organization. There is even a money-saving Notion template bundle to get your digital products business up and running even faster!
